Hypnotherapists:

Dr Les Brann BSc., MBBS., MRCS, LRCP., DRCOG., MRCGP., D Clin Hyp., MMedSci., CBiol., MIBiol., ECH
Dr Brann is a General Practitioner with 24 years experience and holds the postgraduate Diploma and Masters Degree in Clinical Hypnosis from the University of Sheffield. He also holds the Certificate of Accreditation from BSCAH and the European Certificate of Hypnosis. He is on the National Council of BSCAH and is Chairman of BSCAH Eastern Counties Branch.

Mrs Margaret Joslin RGN, Dip Clin Hyp., ECH
Margaret is a Practice Nurse with 30 years experience and holds the postgraduate Diploma in Clinical hypnosis from University College London, the Certificate of Accreditation from BSCAH and the European Certificate of Hypnosis.

Mrs Karen Mackrodt RGN., BSC, MSC., Dip Clin Hyp, ECH
Karen is a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Pain Management and holds the Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Hypnosis from University College London, the Certificate of Accreditation from BSCAH and the European Certificate of Hypnosis. Karen is Secretary of the BSCAH Eastern counties Branch.

Referrals:
We are happy to take private referrals. If you feel hypnotherapy may be suitable for your problem please discuss this with your GP and ask them to make an official (private) referral giving your important medical history. This is important as some people have or have had illnesses which may make hypnosis unsuitable.  Please note we do not see patients for weight loss or smoking cessation hypnotherapy.

Cost per session (1 hour) is £90. The number of sessions required depends on the type of problem you have. We find that 3-6 sessions are an average number. We always allocate two appointments initially. The first session is usually a getting to know you and you feeling comfortable with the therapist. We discuss the role of hypnosis and how the brain works and how hypnosis can help. Although you will be informed fully on hypnosis, we also provide you with an information sheet with the appointment details which provides you answers to frequently asked questions.

Hypnosis can be used as part of an integrated treatment package alongside medicines and other therapy which is why it is important to involve your GP who has responsibility for co-ordinating your care. Under exceptional circumstances we can accept direct patient self-referrals. If you feel you would prefer this approach please send us as much detail as you can about your problem and your past medical problems. We will consider such cases on an individual basis.

NHS:
We do have an arrangement with our local PCT to treat patients from specific Practices for specific problems but NHS treatment is not universally available.
